The Youth Empowerment Collective, a group of dedicated volunteers, has chosen Bradford West Gwillimbury as the host for their inaugural Youth Empowerment Day, celebrated annually on May 4th. The Youth Empowerment Collective is committed to uplifting young people, envisioning a Canada where every youth feels a sense of belonging and thrives through opportunities to develop essential skills and emerge as leaders within their communities.

In the Netherlands, Liberation Day - Bevrijdingsdag - is celebrated each year on May 5th to mark the end of the occupation by Nazi Germany during World War II. This commemoration celebrates the significant contributions that Dutch-Canadians have made to the growth and prosperity of our Province and our Community giving us all a chance to pause and reflect on our values and ideals of freedom, democracy, and human rights.

Campaign 911 is a Canada-wide campaign to encourage and empower the Canadian public to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911. Impaired driving is the #1 criminal cause of death in Canada and, yet, every impaired driving crash is preventable. By calling 911 and reporting suspected impaired drivers to police, all Canadians can play a role in keeping our roads and waterways safe and in reducing impaired driving crashes, deaths and injuries.
Join us on Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Courtyard Courthouse - 57 Holland St. E for a flag raising ceremony. MADD members will be having a table at Community Corner from 11:30 - 2 pm

National AccessAbility Week was established in 1987 following Rick Hanson’s 40,000 km Man in Motion Tour. The BWG Accessibility Advisory Committee is committed to increasing public awareness and breaking down barriers faced by persons with disabilities.
